Dr. Ammr K. Kurdi is currently the Chief Audit Executive (CAE), Assessment & Accreditation Coordinator, andAssistant Professor of Accounting at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. Dr. Kurdi also serves as a member of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center Advisory Council since April 2012. The group is a primary and strategic think-tank for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Saudi Arabia and Chaired by the Deputy Minister. Dr. Kurdi is also an active strategic and financial advisor for several manufacturing and retail businesses in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.
Dr. Kurdi earned his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of North Texas in 2010 and his Master of Accounting degree from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management in 2004. He is primarily specialized in financial accounting, earnings quality and measurement, oil and gas accounting, and capital-markets-based accounting research. He has several recent publications in academic and professional journals and publications in the United States in the areas of petroleum accounting and international accounting research. Dr. Kurdi was also an invited speaker for various academic and professional seminars including the American Accounting Association, the University of Texas at Dallas research symposium, the Fort-Worth Petroleum Club, and the Saudi Society of Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).Dr. Kurdi was also recently a hosted guest speaker on several TV shows in the National TV network of the Kingdom on programs covering topics related to the Kingdom’s budget, petroleum resources, and internal auditing practices. He also serves as the Vice President of the Institute of Management Accountants’ Eastern Province Chapter in Saudi Arabia.
