Bassam earned a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM and a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern Queensland. Bassam worked for 15 years in multiple Gas and Oil facilities in different professional and leadership capacities within Maintenance, Engineering and Operations organizations in Saudi Aramco. He worked for three years in Saudi Aramco Finance organization as the head of Planning and Performance Management Department preparing the Company’s medium range Business Plan, accountability and performance reports and evaluation of capital investments. Bassam is married with two daughters and two sons.
Bassam: "Management take their business decisions based on data and information provided to them by professionals within their organizations. Management accountants are ones of the most important members in the team providing accurate, well-structured and relevant data. Enhancing the management accountant profession in the region is of at most important to the business in the area, and the IMA is a great professional society that can provide the tools, knowledge and expertise to achieve this goal. Being president of the Eastern Province chapter gives me the responsibility to influence the local professionals achieve their ambitious in becoming well versed in their management accounting profession and provide the business with required expertise to help them conduct relevant research in this field.
